Update: What is happening to all my cats?
I spent the afternoon chatting and exchanging phone numbers with the elderly, wild-haired woman that lives alone across the street. She mentioned to me that she has been “collecting stray cats” from her yard for years and now has a total of TEN cats. She said that there was a young kitten in her back yard today but he hadn’t been able to catch it yet. I asked her in a horrific voice: “How do you know they are strays”. She replied, that the last one she caught, a male, had ear mites. She said she has them all spayed or nurtured and de-clawed (OMG). I suggested that she had my missing cats and that they were ALL spayed or nurtured with ALL of their claws and she asked me to describe all of my missing cats. I started listing them and noticed that I was going down a dead street when she quickly replied: “None of my cats look like any of your missing cats.”, I know I will never get an invite to her house to rescue my cats now. I also know that I seem to be unable to demand to see her cats to prove they are not any of mine. I am just bowing down to avoid trouble. It is eating me up inside not knowing if she has my cats. Niner, Misty, Moopy, Talla, and Nellie are all missing. She said she was giving one stray and “found” nine others in her yard. Do the math, I have. I have other neighbors missing cats too!
